Discovering pathways is about creating opportunities to explore the variety of career paths that exist within the primary industries. It’s about breaking down some of the misconceptions held by many, that the primary industries is about monotonous, seasonal work.
Through a range of initiatives, we are able to highlight opportunities that exist in primary industries regardless of their area of interest i.e. science, maths, technology, design. Examples of the initiatives we run include: Discovery Tours A one day tour for secondary school students taking a look behind the scenes of some of our local industry organisations. The day includes presentations from staff, interactive activities, and tour of facilities. |

School Engagement & Sector Ambassadors
We have an active engagement plan with the 11 secondary schools within the Bay of Plenty. We are in schools twice a year with a strong focus on highlighting possibilities in primary industries. We do this by providing a high level, energetic presentation on the benefits of working in primary industries. We also bring in guest speakers that have been successful in a variety of roles within industries to share their story.
Career Expo
Kiwi Leaders feature at the local Career Expo where we have the opportunity to have face to face engagement with over 1000 students over the course of
two days.

A two-day inspirational summit that provides a platform for young leaders to explore leadership, pathways, innovation and enterprise.

We have a strong social media presence which is a helpful platform to stay engaged with youth and reinforce the messages that are provided in other forums. We have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn with growing followers.
